2 things that I forgot to mention:


a) I've already seen:

but all of these existing bug reports either claim to be already
resolved, or they are have not been modified in over 1 year.


b) I normally don't use tasksel during installation of a clean machine
(I just install the gnome-core package in aptitude) so I don't run the
"power management daemon". Consequently, I get this bug immediately on
all fresh installs.
