It would be interesting to know which font is causing that. You can try
removing some of your installed font packages and see whether it is
still crashing.

We will also need a full backtrace. Please install libpango1.0-0-dbg and
libgtk2.0-0-dbg, and see http://wiki.debian.org/HowToGetABacktrace
