Bug#481896: gnome-cups-manager: doesn't work right with gksudo

I could be missing something import here, but as far as I can tell 
gnome-cups-manager privilege escalation is completely broken.

Here's what I tried:

1.) Start from System->Admin->Printing menu in gnome. Double-click "New 
Printer". It fails silently.

2.) Start from command line to see if I'm missing messages. Nope. Fails 
silently.

3.) Look at the menus. Under "Edit"?????? there's an item called "Become 
Administrator", so I try that. Double-click "New Printer". It fails 
silently, so I close the "Printers" window. But wait... as soon as I 
close the "Printers" window the add printer dialog appears. That I 
completely don't understand.

4.) After all this, I played around with it. If I run "sudo 
gnome-cups-manager" from the command line it works. So, I think this is 
a problem specifically with gksudo?

I should also mention that I have a completely sudo based system. There 
is no root password, so there's a chance that all of this works when the 
default gksu behavior is su rather than sudo.
