Bug#493019: gnome-applets: volume applet: 'preferences' dialog pops up on the wrong screen

Well, indeed, if I connect my intel 965GM laptop to a monitor and clone my
internal display with

xrandr --output LVDS --auto
xrandr --output VGA --auto --same-as LVDS

then the popups behave correctly on both screens. If however I connect my
nVidia 7100 desktop to a TV and use the following xorg ( which is BTW
automatically produced by nvidia-settings )

then the bug happens.

So you say the nvidia driver displays some popups on the correct screen, and
others always on screen 0?
hard to believe the driver does that...
