Actually, I was saying that gnome-terminal should use sensible-browser
if there is nothing set up by control center (like when epiphany isn't
installed but other stuff is; instead of failing saying it can't find
the default browser binary it could fallback to sensible-browser) or
control center should change global settings and not just settings for
gnome-aware applications (preferred). Making the gconf entry point to
x-www-browser and making the capplet change the symlink works for both
gnome and non-gnome applications.

And it is quite possible to see people using gnome-terminal on lxde or
xfce; these systems have pretty lacking terminal emulators compared to
gnome-terminal, IMO.
