Bug#445529: metacity: Missing buttons for minimization/maximizatin etc. in window decoration

Hi,
  I got this problem today after I did an upgrade.So I tried compiz
instead,All these buttons are just ok.
So I suspect this may be a problem with metacity.I followed Patrick's
suggestions in this thread and reinstalled
all metacity-related packages:
 apt-get install --reinstall metacity metacity-common libmetacity0
then after restart metacity all these buttons come  back.

Later I remembered that dpkg exited abnormally when trying to configure the
package debian-reference-common during upgrade.
and  it got exited again and again everytime I tried  dpkg-reconfigure -a,
Not untill I  remove this package and dpkg-reconfigure -a
again can I install  debian-reference-common and configure all other
packages that not configured.

So It may be due to metacity not configured correctly? I can attach the
dpkg.log if needed.
