Status of update-manager

Hello,

After having issues with update-manager and doing some investigation
using the upstream sources I noticed that update-manager in sid is a bit
outdated (0.68.debian-6, upstream's current version is 0.93.15).

I am just wondering if there is a special reason for this (think
licensing issues or similar) or if simply no newer package has been
packaged for Debian yet. Could you please provide me with some
information on this topic? Thanks in advance.
