Files copied from an sftp location are created with mode 0, that is, they are
not readable/writeable by anyone.

Co-incidentally, rather than an SFTP url, nautilus shows the ~/.gvfs path for
such locations, and if I examine the permissions of the files on the FUSE
filesystem, they also have mode 0 (though I can still actually read them if
I try).
