This is a known issue in GTK+, fixed in 2.14. This happens when a remote
CUPS server is unreachable.

I guess it is possible to backport the patch to lenny, but it is a bit
intrusive:

If you can test the patch against 2.12 first, maybe we can ask the
stable release managers whether this is appropriate.
