I understand your frustration and time spent.

The error above is that, I suppose, apt-cache depends ekiga looks at the 
experimental version of ekiga, while you have unstable version installed.

As for v4l2, in the next build (I hope in one week), v4l2 will be the 
first choice, before v4l, so it will be installed by default.

Maybe it is better to have all plugins in one package, anyway the 
plugins have between 10kB and 100kB (from memory).
