Not sure if you need this in light of your other message; but I tried
this and got no verbose output, but suspend worked. I've added my user
into the right group since posting. I was still slightly surprised it
worked as I haven't logged my desktop session out and in again to
inherit the right groups. I'm still slightly concerned that, given as
you say d-i puts the user you create into powerdev regardless, I was
omitted.
