Hi,

-ugly is a recommended package, not a dependency. You could try removing
it and installing gstreamer0.10-fluendo-mp3 for use as an mp3 decoder. 

I haven't tried it myself, but I guess it should work.

Maybe, on the other hand, playing ripped dvd movies directly from the
