Not intended to be run what way, exactly?

Given that nautilus now handles automount and media handling, it seems
fairly clear that it should continue running as part of a GNOME session
even with show_desktop=false.  It simply needs to stop *exiting* when it
sees show_desktop=false; that it exits causes the infinite loop.
