Bug#531388: Fails to start a valid gnome session after upgrade

What is the process list (ps auxwww) at the time of the lockup? Does it
work if you remove compiz-gtk and compiz-core from your system? (I know
it’s not the right fix, it’s just to be sure this is caused by compiz.)
