Bug#529333: update-manager: fails to smart-upgrade

Package: update-manager
Version: 0.68.debian-7
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

Hi

It's been a few days since update-manager seems to be unable to
smart-upgrade, meaning that if a package update/upgrade requires an
additional package to be installed it won't offer to install it. The
package to be upgraded is deselected and impossible to select.

As a result, I constantly need to revert to synaptic or apt-get to
upgrade packages.

Regards
Vittorio
