Bug#554161: gnome-settings-daemon: Keybindings involving the numpad are ignored

Package: gnome-settings-daemon
Version: 2.28.1-1
Severity: normal

I like to control my music player with keyboard shortcuts. Here are
my bindings:

<Control><Alt>KP_1 runs xmms2 stop
<Control><Alt>KP_3 runs xmms2 play
<Control><Alt><Shift>KP_3 runs a script that toggles play/pause
<Control><Alt>KP_4 runs xmms2 prev
<Control><Alt>KP_6 runs xmms2 next
<Control><Alt>KP_5 runs a script that displays a notification with the
current song

This is all set with gconf-editor through the
/apps/metacity/global_keybindings/run_command_* keys.

Now let's add keys to control the volume too:

<Control><Alt>KP_2 for volume down
<Control><Alt>KP_8 for volume up
<Control><Alt>KP_0 for volume mute

These values are set through gconf-editor, or the keyboard shortcut
applet, as the /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/keybindings/* keys. However,
they seem to be ignored. I'm certain they used to work some time ago, I
unfortunately didn't take the time to report the regression as soon as
it appeared. For some reason, adding Shift to the mix gets the
shortcuts working, with the gconf values becoming
<Shift><Control><Alt>KP_Down, <Shift><Control><Alt>KP_Up and
<Shift><Control><Alt>KP_Insert respectively.

Roland.
