What do you mean by "with --g-fatal-warnings"?  I assume this is a
compiler flag?  (It's not an argument to gdb or balsa....)

I tried installing the balsa-dbg package and running balsa with
gdb but have entirely forgotten gdb and don't know how to get
gdb to stop at an appropriate point.  In any case it's not clear
how to reproduce the error.  It does not seem to "just happen".

Well, I can make two "main" windows open, that's for sure.
I do run balsa from within a shell script wrapper if that
matters.  (It also runs twice from within gdb in 2 xterms.)

Perhaps because I'm using kde?
