As subject line, KDE OK, root user OK.

Just noticed, might have been the case for a few days.

I don't know if the package is g-m-d, no recent updates, but could be 
one of several recent gnome packages.

Looks similar to recent complaint about Thunar and .doc, but this is all 
file types, mp3, pdf, etc.
