Having a team that is dedicated to the project is better than a team
where you already know that one member is not very friendly to the
project. And one central place for everything PackageKit-related makes
more sense as well.

And yes, PackageKit may not be very good, but it's better than the
current solution and good *enough*. One day, there may be APT2, and all
your wishes will be fulfilled, but it's most likely not going to be
(fully) there for wheezy[1]

So, yes, we heard you, we know that you don't like it, but for the near
future, that's the way to go. Afterwards, we can do the cool APT2 stuff
and attack that problem one layer lower.


[1] Well, if it's ready, we're far too conservative to switch from APT
to APT2 in one release.
