Package: libgweather1
Version: 2.30.3-1
Tags: patch

The Australian Bureau of Meterology has made significant changes to
their web site, which breaks the gnome panel-weather applet's ability to
display detailed forecasts.

fortunately, the reports are still available in their old, plain-text,
form at a different URL.

Gnome's Bugzilla has at least two bug reports for this problem, with
attached patches. Details are at:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=628750
https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=619152

the patch is at:

https://bugzilla.gnome.org/attachment.cgi?id=169852

i have also attached a copy of the patch to this message.

I can confirm that this patch works.

I downloaded the debian source for libgweather 2.30.3-1, applied the
patch, and compiled it. after installing the patched package, the BOM's
detailed forecasts started working again in the weather applet.

NOTE: i had to log out of X and log in again before the detailed weather
reports started working. merely killing and restarting the weather
applet wasn't enough. something else in gnome must have been keeping the
old .so in memory.
