Bug#563956: gnome-session: Reboot and shutdown don't always work

Package: gnome-session
Version: 2.28.0-4
Severity: normal

Sometimes when I clcik Restart or Shutdown in the menu or panel applet I
get logged out but then the gdm login screen comes up instead of the
system rebooting or halting as requested. It stays there until I choose
Shutdown or Restart from its Actions/Options menu. This happens on a
32-bit unstable system I use too. FWIW both systems are configured for
gdm to automatically log me in.

I think this is a problem with gnome-session rather than gdm because I
used to use ROX-Session, which requests gdm to shutdown or reboot via
its socket interface, and that always worked correctly.
