It is not easy for a user to know what they are supposed to do when the
display goes blank. Also, previous versions of gnome-display-properties used
to default to CANCEL, so, even powerusers might get bitten by this behaviour.

Anyway, it's arguable, I know. Another option might be to add a text over the
apply button, saying something like: "Once applied, press ESCAPE to revert"
