i installed
gdb
libwebkit-1.0-2-dbg
libglib2.0-0-dbg
libgtk2.0-0-dbg
is that enough to make the traces usable?

indeed it does -- please reassign this as appropriate. i had strace
running on the last session, but it took half a day to crash, so it's
rather lengthy (150M, ~5M compressed) -- is there a way to filter or
reduce it (say, last 1000 lines or so) for the strace to stay usable but
get a bit smaller and maybe not reveal my complete browsing history?
