Thanks for your proposal for help. Unfortunately there are several
issues with this patch.

Why the change?

This is incorrect. The libgda4 tarball requests (in configure.in) only
version 2.16.

Same here. Why bump this dependency?

Please don’t do that, this is not going to be a NMU.

You should have merged the changelog entries here instead of adding a
new one.

Please consider adding the following to your ~/.devscripts: 
        DEBCHANGE_RELEASE_HEURISTIC=changelog
        DEBCHANGE_FORCE_SAVE_ON_RELEASE=no
This will make the dch command work as expected in most cases.

> -SONAME := 4
> +SONAME := 6

This change is incorrect. The soname was not changed between the two
versions so the package name must not change.
