Bug#590680: ImportError: cannot import name GObject

Hi!

I'm suspecting that python-gobject is responsible for a number of errors I have
gotten today (please correct me if Ḯ'm wrong). I updated the package today from
version 2.21.1-2 to version 2.21.4-1 and now these errors are appearing.

Also, a similar issue seems to have been solved in Fedora by an update of
python-gobject, as described in the links given below.

Description of error:

E.g. when using the program "reportbug", it prints to the screen:

** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkWindow)
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkInvisible)
** Message: pygobject_register_sinkfunc is deprecated (GtkObject)
/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/gtk-2.0/gtk/__init__.py:40: RuntimeWarning: tp_compare didn't return -1 or -2 for exception

ImportError: cannot import name GObject


Also, my newly built exaile 0.3.2 package (source obtained from ubuntu) fails at startup with
a similar message.

Over at Fedora, this report was made:

and it seems it was solved due to an update of python-gobject, as described here:

reported against something called "pybootchartgui" which I cannot find in Debian.

I did find this, reported in ubuntu against the source package pygtk:
