This particular issue has been fixed in ntfs-3g:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=554599

   * debian/ntfs-3g.links: Create a symlink /sbin/mount.ntfs pointing to
     /sbin/mount.ntfs-3g. This way ntfs-3g is used as default driver for
     ntfs file systems. (Closes: #554599)

devicekit-disks/udisks also already have a recommends on ntfs-3g, so it should
be installed by default. I use consider this issue fixed.

Cheers,
Michael
