I am using gdm3 too. So I just tried to reproduce it again with a fresh
login - but indeed I couldn't trigger this behavior today (everything
works as expected...). I recall that *yesterday* I triggered this with a
usb harddisk with multiple partitions and since I see a short flickering
when I insert a usb stick it could be timing related - but I have no
longer an idea how to reliably trigger this.
