Bug#583631: [nautilus] Mount Options

Package: nautilus
Version: 2.30.1-1
Severity: normal

When automounting of USB stricks and external disks were handled by
gnome-volume-manager and pmount, it was possible to edit the mount
options through nautilus (Volume tab at device properties window) or
through gconf (setting default mount options for file system type or
volume).

Now the automounting is handled by gvfs-mount. Volume tab is gone from
device properties. Setting default mount options at gconf seems to have
no effect. I could not find any man page or documentation of gvfs-mount,
so I do not know whether configuration through gconf is not possible, or
am I just setting wrong keys.

I believe there should be a configuration tool for mount options under
nautilus. I think removing volume tab was Gnome project's decision.
However this way, user loses all the flexibility. Today I tried to mount
a VFAT USB stick without utf8=1 and I could not configure the automount
in any way. The only solution was to manually mount it with pmount.

PS : I set the severity to normal since it seems there is no way to
configure the options. However if it is possible to configure them
through gconf, this could go to wishlist.

Thanks.
