Bug#600575: Screen remains black after suspend/resume when lock screen is enabled and fade out occurs

I've just done some more tests.

This bug is not just restricted to just intel video or a certain
configuration: it appears it will affect everyone who uses a lock screen
option with a gnome desktop, except those who use a proprietary graphics
driver. So potentially a good chunk of squeeze users.

Confirmed on Core 2 based desktop with Nvidia graphics

Confirmed on Acer Aspire 1810TZ with Intel graphics

The problem is not only reproducible with a squeeze installation
upgraded from lenny, but also with a recent squeeze Live CD/USB - just
booting and selecting "lock screen when screensaver is active" before
suspending is enough to reproduce.

Problem does not occur with the proprietary Nvidia driver installed, but
I also notice the fade-out does not occur then either.

Unfortunately fixing this is quite out of my range of expertise and
short of disabling the fade-out like was done in Ubuntu, I am sure I
would not know how to fix it myself meaningfully and would need help.

I could try to reproduce on earlier snapshots of squeeze I guess.

Thanks.
