Bug#622823: evince: when filling in f1040.pdf (from USA's IRS), clicking checkboxes has no visible effect

The attached file is available from the USA's Internal Revenue Service
at:

  http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040.pdf

It is a "fillable form".  In evince, you can type directly into the fields.

However, checking the checkboxes has no effect.

The mouse cursor correctly turns into an "active" icon when over a
checkbox, but clicking does not appear to change the state of the
checkbox.

I think an "X" is supposed to appear or disappear with each click.
