Dear Michael,

Even if this does not answer the question of why there was not a loaders.cache at the good time, it is possible that things are going well now. To answer to this question, I guess I need to run aptitude full-upgrade presumably upgrading packages that use gtk: right now my Current status is: 0 broken [+0], 0 updates [+0], 15150 new [+0], so I will send an update when there will be something to upgrade.

In the meanwhile I attach the term.log of the last upgrade (look at the upgrade started at 9:39; the one started at 09:09:47 had the same problems but hang for some unrelated problems).
