Apologies for the long delay in responding.  I no longer have regular access to
the machine which I originally spotted the problem on (it's a PC in a flat
being renovated).  I've been meaning to try and take a look for a while… I will
hopefully have regular access in the near future.

In the mean time, I've just brought a test laptop up to gnome3 and reproduced
the issue.

Nautilus complains "one or more volumes on the medium are busy."

eject complains as originally reported.

Versions here:

gdm3 3.0.4-2
nautilus 3.0.2-2
gsettings-desktop-schemas 3.0.1-1
dconf-gsettings-backend 0.7.5-3
(not sure what else might be relevant)

I'm not sure what to try changing; current values attached.  Or, if you mean,
does *any* change in that file take effect?  Specifying a different wallpaper
has taken effect post-restart of gdm3.
