Bug#617428: 2.30.3-3 i386 closes/crashes when enabling "Inverted colors"

I have verified that this bug is repeatable with 2.30.3-3, however I do not    
see the bug appear in 2.30.3-2. I tried debugging the issue, but some of the   
debugging information was optimized out, so I recompiled using -O0, but
the bug disappeared.

Then I decided to I rebuild the package with the default optimizations
turned back on and no other modifications, but the bug did not reappear in
the version that I built, so it seems to only be a problem with the official  
debian package.

Here are the default dpkg-buildflags on my system:
