I confirm this. It is actually a GTK+ bug which is fixed in experimental
version 3.6.1-1. I attach a patch for 3.4.2-4 that I backported from
upstream git and that fixes the issue.
I think it is important to have this bug fixed in Wheezy, because it is
very hard to type a password (hence not seeing what you are typing) when
the active keymap is not the one that is displayed…
OTOH, the attached patch introduces 2 new symbols in the public API of
GDK, so I don't know if this is suitable at this point of the freeze.
mbiebl: what's your opinion?
If you decide not to fix this for Wheezy, then you can close this bug,
marking it as fixed in version 3.6.1-1.
