~/.local/share/applications/menu-xdg

The computer that is taking several minutes is an older computer AMD
1800+, Nvidia 7800GS.  I haven't cleaned out the .desktop files on that
one yet.

The computer that I cleaned out the .desktop files is a Lenovo w500.
After cleaning out the .desktop files, it is now responsive.
