Bug#617409: brasero: Brasero corrupts all blank CD-R when burning (was: additional info)

Hi,

on the risk to discourage Simon from testing SAO, i have to report
a fact that weakens my TAO/SAO theory in his special case.

Brasero writes TAO too, when copying an image from hard disk to CD,
or when storing a newly generated image intermediately on hard disk.
I had hoped to find the final prove by seeing it using SAO in that
situation. Bummer (to quote xv).

Alain's reports are still matching my theory.
Did you yet have any successful burns with CD-R and Brasero ?

But Simon's observation and those of some others in the Gnome and Ubuntu
bug reports indicate that there is still an ingredient missing.
Nevertheless i cannot see how intermediate storing would help improving
write success. Only my first CD burners of 1999 and 2000 had no underrun
protection and needed a CPU fast enough to continously transfer the data
at the burner's speed.
Since 2003 all my burners can stand pauses in the data stream.

So please, both make a try with SAO. Ask our friendly Debian hosts
for help with patching and installing Brasero, if needed.
(That's a thing where i myself can only spread confusion.:))

Have a nice day :)

Thomas
