That may be true, but not every application needs this functionality. In
addition it gets worse, because gvfs pulls in udisks. Can you explain
what part of udisks is needed in order to operate gnucash? I cannot and
it happily worked without udisks before. So please have a second look at
this dependency chain:

libgnome2-0 -> gvfs -> gvfs-daemons -> libgdu0 -> udisks

I would like to see one of these dependencies demoted in a Recommends.
Can you tell me which one of them is the most likely candidate?

Note: I suggest to downgrade the severity of this issue to wishlist.
