I upgraded libgt-3-0_3.2.4-6, libgtk-3-bin_3.2.4-6 and 
libgtk-3-common_3.4.2-6, changed the theme to "Advaita-X-dark and indeed 
it works!

There are only two Theme-Engines I've installed, "gtk3-engines-oxygen" 
and indeed "gtk3-engines-unico". So I think you are right.

Thanks for the help. Hope I've not given you too much trouble since in 
the end it was my fault..
