Bug #466741 : still there in Debian 6 "squeeze"

Dear Sirs,

never had this problem till I updated my password (to a longer one, 27
chars, just for the statistics).

User could not even login into system anymore.

I got pw back to base one, read the bug reports and found:

a) /etc/shadow in group "shadow" instead of "root" but I had never changed
it (didn't even know about that file): this solved the login problem

b) suggestion of

gnome-screensaver-command -l

by another user has no effect in my case: pw is also not recognised.

Any clue?

Kind Regards,

etrusco
