The dev pointer passed to libusb above is looks bogus. It has been corrupted
somewhere. Since the libgphoto2 version in debian is quite outdated I'm
assuming lots of important fixes are missing. One of those could be this:

Please add the patch in debian/patches/ and add the name to
debian/patches/series, rebuild the package and report back if that
solves the problem or not.
