Hi,
Besides the memory leaks, random freezes and random restarts that seem common
to gnome-shell, whenever it starts or restarts, there's a blue background in
the overview.
The blue is removed by re-selecting the background in the settings, but since
the shell restarts quite often (because of the memory leaks, random freezes and
random restarts aforementioned), it's quite annoying.
I'm using the Intel Haswell Mobile graphics card (with no NVIDIA driver and
nouveau blacklisted, because of a bumblebee bug), but I have the same issue in
another computer using the Radeon driver.
I have no icons on the desktop (and my ~/Desktop directory is empty), and the
background and gtk+ and shell themes are the default ones.
I upgraded to the gnome-shell package in unstable to see if that corrected the
issue, with no luck. Reportbug suggested me to install the package in
experimental, but that seems to remove a lot of stuff, so it's not an option.
I'll try to attach a screencast or related link to the report.
