Package: gnome-shell
Version: 3.22.3-3
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
Rapid typing results in out-of-order characters in search box of overview mode.
To replicate:
1. While in a gnome session:
2. Enter overview mode.
3. Type "ter", leaving very little time between key presses.
4. Search box will often contain "tre".
Additional info:
- This only happens in overview mode. Rapid typing in gnome applications
always results in characters in the same order that the keys were pressed.
- I have carefully checked that I really am typing the characters in the order
"ter". For example, sliding my finger over the keys 1, 2, ..., 9, results in
out-of-order numbers in the search box (the disorder is non-deterministic). In
the experiment with the number keys, I never see any missing or duplicate
numbers in the search box, just numbers out of order.
Thanks for looking into this!
Best,
Rob
