Not quite so.<br>

Systems that have been badly damaged by this bug can be easily detected

and, in that case,  xdg-user-dirs can be made to continue to damage

them.<br>

Instructions can be written for the user to put the system right so

that xdg-user-dirs can do the right thing.<br>

I understood that Ubuntu has just sent me "upstream to Debian".<br>

And yourself don't tell me where that is.<br>

I thought that Open Software wanted to be helped but I must conclude
