[Debian GNUstep maintainers] GNUstep library transition

Hello release team,

[Please Cc: me and/or pkg-gnustep-maintainers, as I am not subscribed to
debian-release.]

It looks like we are just about ready to transition the GNUstep packages
to use the new GNUstep libraries. Due to the filesystem changes that we
had to make to get GNUstep (more) compliant with the FHS (see
debian-policy archives -- all previous complaints have been addressed to
my knowledge), the old GNUstep libraries and the new GNUstep libraries
cannot be installed at the same time. This means we will have to
mass-rebuild all GNUstep programs.

At least two of the packages that I know of are involved in the other
transitions: pdfkit.framework (C++), and cynthiune.app (C++, flac).  The
updated pdfkit.framework for libstdc++6 is already in testing, as is the
updated cynthiune.app for libstdc++6 and libflac7.  I don't know of any
other packages that are involved in any of the other transitions.

The GNUstep-maintainer team's plan is to upload the new packages (once
they're recompiled) first into experimental. Then, when we get the
green light from -release, we will upload to sid.

Let me know what else needs to be done to make the transition as smooth
as possible.

Thanks.
