Package: gpm
Version: 1.19.6-12.1
Severity: important

        Hi!

I am upgrading gpm to 1.19.6-19 on sarge currently and can just say:
AAARGH!

Why the heck am I asked about which mouse type, which device and so
on?! I *already have*! an /etc/gpm.conf, thank you! Why not parsing
that in the config debconf script _before_ asking these questions and
taking a look at them?

There is no need for these questions here, pretty please add a check if
there is already a gpm.conf and *DON'T* ask these questions again, my
gpm is already configured!

Personally I'd even say this is a serious abuse of debconf.... Even, I
think it doesn't mention that it will overwrite my already-available
gpm.conf without further asking, which makes it even a policy problem...

 Pretty please, get some clue.

P.S.: Sorry for the rant -- but *aaaarrrrgghhhh*
