Although important from a functionality sense, in the Debian bug system
this should be filed as a wishlist item, not as "important". i.e. there
is no error in the 1.2.6 package itself.

The DebianGIS team is currently working hard to get the outstanding
library & package naming issues sorted out which are needed before a
1.3.1 GDAL package. See the DebianGIS mailing lists for more info.
