Hi,

 I can confirm it with PowerMac G4 Cube, however, it works fine
 with i386 and amd64 PC. 

 I know its quite annoying problem for bug submitter, but if it's 
 difficult to solve this issue, I suggest to down severity because 
 other PC users can use qgis without problem.
