Hi,

it would be nice if support for WebP was built in to GDAL.

WebP is a modern JPEG-alike from Google, based on the VP8 codec.

The libwebp package in Debian is BSD licensed.

needed:

GDAL Version >= 1.9.0

control:  Build-Depends: libwebp-dev
rules:    ./configure --with-webp
