Package: gridengine
Version: 8.1.9+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
Control: tag -1 + newcomer

The gridengine package does not set the SGE_ARCH variable, which is used in,
for example, qmake as a default architecture resource request. If it isn't
set, you get an error and have to explicitly request an architecture:

qmake(1):
~~~
If no resource request (Grid Engine command line option -l)  is  specified,
qmake  will use the environment variable SGE_ARCH to request the
same architecture as the submit host for task execution.
~~~

The SGE_ARCH variable is best specified in /etc/default/gridengine where
all the other SGE-specific environment variables are set.
