Package: grub
Version: 0.95+cvs20040624-17
Severity: grave

-- System Information:
Debian Release: 3.1
Architecture: i386 (i686)
Kernel: Linux 2.6.8-2-686
Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US (charmap=ISO-8859-1)

Versions of packages grub depends on:
ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-22 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an
ii libncurses5 5.4-4 Shared libraries for terminal hand

-- no debconf information

After a kernel upgrade last night my system fails to boot.
It was caused by a wrongly updated menu.lst which pointed to
a wrong kernel location:

It pointed to:
/vmlinuz-2.6.8-2-686 root=/dev/hda5 ro vga=791

and that should be:

/vmlinuz-2.6.8-2-686 root=/dev/sda5 ro vga=791

FYI this is a sata machine

Best regards,

Michel van der Klei
